A Relocation That Changed History
"The Trail of Tears" is the name given to the relocation of Native Americans from their homes in South Eastern U.S. to "Indian Territory" by the Mississippi River. The term originated in 1830 after the Indian Removal Act of 1830 took flight creating decades of violence, abuse, and illiberality towards the people whose homes we took when arriving in the "New World".
